May is National Water Safety Month. When the weather starts to heat up, the pools, lakes, oceans, rivers, and other bodies of water start calling. While swimming can be a very enjoyable activity this summer, it is important to remind all parents and caregivers of the importance of water safety. 

Newport News, VA – April 28, 2025—The YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas is proud to announce its partnership with Busch Gardens Williamsburg® & Water Country USA® as its signature drowning prevention sponsor. This collaboration aims to enhance water safety education and provide essential resources to prevent drowning incidents in the community.  

Five Days of Action® is back. From April 21 to 25, the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas will participate in the campaign to increase awareness of child sexual abuse and how all adults can prevent it when we “Know. See. Respond.” We pledge to protect the children we serve, and we hope you will, too.
