Northumberland and Youth Sports Executive

Allison Cockrell

  • What inspired you to become part of the YMCA community? After graduating from college with a degree in Recreation and Leisure studies, I was looking for a career where I could give back and serve the local community that helped raise me. The YMCA provided me with that opportunity and has since offered me so many chances to serve locally, and to grow both professionally and personally in service to our entire service area.

  • What are some of your most significant accomplishments at the YMCA? Served as Day Camp Director, Program Director, Center Executive Director/Program Line Executive (Youth Sports), and now as District Executive Director receiving the 2019 YPN Chapter 25 Distinguished Leadership Award.

  • What are your hobbies/interests outside of work? Watching sports, live music, and spending time on the water.

Give to the Y

When you give to the Y, you support programs and services that help kids succeed, prevent drowning, prepare teens for life and help people grow healthier in spirit, mind, and body. The Y is needed now more than ever to meet the evolving needs of our community.
