Children who would otherwise be unable to afford camp are allowed to experience it. Over 50% of all campers receive financial assistance.

  • A resident camp experience nurtures the potential of youth and creates a sense of community among campers of all ages through a wide variety of skill-building and outdoor program activities.

 

 

Besides raising money for a great cause, when you raise the money, you can get cool stuff.

  • $250 receives a plunge T-shirt
  • $870 receives a plunge T-shirt + camp sweatshirt
  • $1,000 receive a plunge T-shirt + camp sweatshirt + towel
  • $2,000 receive a plunge T-shirt + camp sweatshirt + towel + bathrobe

A little healthy competition! Raise the most money in one of these four divisions and win the coveted plunger trophy. Divisions: individual, business/team, current camper, and best costume.

It’s $250 to take the plunge. Once you register, you can track your progress through your fundraising page. We encourage you to drive all your donations to your online giving link. However, if you are collecting cash or checks, feel free to bring those with you to the event. A cash and check tracking sheet is included for your convenience.

Don’t take the plunge alone. You must have a minimum of three and raise a minimum of $1,000 to be considered a team and compete in the team category. Raise $5,000, and your team gets an experience at Camp Kekoka. Incentives are still based on individual fundraising.

Here are some tips to help you secure sponsors: set a monetary goal, personalize your request, and consider donating yourself. Your closest contacts are the most likely to contribute. Studies show that the closer to your goal, the more likely people are to donate, and send periodic updates about your progress. Remember, donations can come in any amount $10, $25, $100, or $1,000.

  • A costume is optional but it could get you more sponsors.
  • 10-10:45 a.m. – Plunger and spectator check-in.
  • 10:45 a.m.– Spectators make their way to the waterfront/dock for the best pictures. Plungers have their pre-plunge meeting near the ding hall.
  • 11 a.m.– The Plunge.
  • 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m. – Plunge celebration and food around the firepit.
