Your YMCA experience is getting an upgrade. The week of October 5, centers will begin moving from our current app to a new one called Familyworks.

Here is what is changing and what you need to do.

WHAT'S NEW

The new app brings a few upgrades you will notice right away:

  • A family-wide barcode, so everyone on your membership can check in from one place
  • "Engagements" replace "Workouts," with more ways to track activity and earn rewards
  • Register for programs and classes directly in the app
KEY DATES
  • Week of October 5: Familyworks becomes available center by center. You will hear directly from your center once it is your turn.
  • October 11: Last day the current app will be available.
  • October 12: Familyworks is live at every YMCAVP center.

Centers will move to the new app center, one center at a time, during the week of October 5. Your center will let you know exactly when it is your turn. The current app(yConnect) will remain available through October 11. Familyworks new mobile app (YMCAVP) will be live at every YMCAVP center starting October 12.

No. Keep using the current app as normal until your center announces its switch. Once your center has moved over, you can download the new YMCAVP app and get set up.

Search "YMCAVP" in the App Store or Google Play and download it once your center has launched. It replaces the current app entirely, so you can delete the old one after October 11.

Use your Daxko credentials, the same username and password you already use for our online member portal. If you do not know your Daxko login, contact your center's Welcome Center, follow this link, or email appsupport@ymcavp.org.

Unfortunately, No. Familyworks is a new platform, so your data will not transfer automatically. You will need to set up your account again, including favoriting classes and centers. Your membership itself is not affected, only your app settings and history.

A few features members will notice right away:

  • Family-wide barcode. Everyone on your membership can check in from a single shared barcode area in the app.
  • Engagements. What used to be called "Workouts" is now "Engagements," with more ways to track activity and earn rewards.
  • In-app program registration. Register for classes and programs directly in the app for you and your entire family, instead of going through a separate site.
  • Push notifications regarding class and program cancellations
  • Direct communications with personal trainers and instructors

October 11 is the last day the current app will be available. Starting October 12, Familyworks is the only app for all YMCAVP centers.

Email appsupport@ymcavp.org any time. Familyworks also has a built-in AI assistant in the app that can answer common questions and help you submit a support ticket.

Visit this page again as we get closer to your center's launch date. We will be adding screenshots and short how-to guides for the most common tasks, like checking in, registering for a class, and finding your barcode.
