[HAMPTON ROADS, VA] — This November 3rd – 20th, the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas and the YMCA of South Hampton Roads is proud to announce a special tribute to honor the brave men and women who have served and are currently serving in our nation’s military.

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, we encourage our community to LEARN about the contributions, achievements, and struggles of Native Americans through their own words. The YMCA has a long history of serving the military community, starting during the Civil War, with the United States Christian Commission providing various programs, including religious services, educational classes, and recreational activities.
