Welcome to Fort Monroe YMCA

The Fort Monroe YMCA is located in an historic antebellum building, built in 1903, and was once a home of the first Armed Services YMCA in the Country, established in 1889. The YMCA is proud to restore the YMCA in Fort Monroe as part of the revitalization of this community.

Shauntrice Williams was born and raised in Bethesda, Maryland, and as a child attended the YMCA summer day camp in Montgomery Village, Maryland. She has spent the last 13 years as a Corps Officer/ Executive Director for The Salvation Army where she served in Savannah, Georgia, Augusta, Georgia, Martinsville, Virginia, Suffolk, Virginia and Fredericksburg, VA. She attended Liberty University where she received her BS in Business Economics and Finance, then attended The Salvation Army College for Officer training in Atlanta, Georgia, and Trevecca Nazarene University where she received her received her BA in Practical Ministries. Shauntrice describes herself as a servant leader, producer, and vision- caster, who believes in efficiency and continual improvement through collaboration and strategic planning. She has a heart for youth work, and desire to mentor and disciple young people to help them reach their full potential. Her passion for the YMCA and its work, is fueled by an unwavering commitment to make a difference in the lives of people she serves and the community she lives in.
